✮✮✮Things that YouTubers Say/Do that Annoy Me✮✮✮

A lot of people are going to have a problem with this post, but I seriously don't care. My thoughts, my blog, end of discussion. It's actually just a hyperbolic expression and is not meant to be particularly ugly and is not directed at any one YouTuber. If you think that I am focusing on someone in particular, then you don't know me. I don't have time to be that much of an asshole. I am a super grown ass woman, who is knocking on 39. I say what I want. I mean what I say. I don't try tointentionallyl hurt anybody. I can't help it if you're overlysensitive. So, that's that! There are three beauty influencers I follow that I feel are unique, daring, creative, really funny, and 100% real. Check out Georgia Harris, Lauren Mae Beauty, & Makeup Struggles for thorough, unbiased, original content with a twist of attitude and a genuine love of makeup. These ladies don't know me from Adam, and I am not generating any type of revenue from giving them a shout out. I just really like them. I have commented on their videos every once in a while, which I generally don't do, but other than that I am not friends or affiliated with these ladies in any way. Just some real women, that are not driven by the industry standards, think as individuals, have unique and real perspectives and operate with facts, not what they think you want to hear, so, check em out! Don't even tell em I sent you because they don't know me, LOL.

Using the Word, "Gravitate" ...
I had an argument with my older sister that this is not a word, but it is and that is so bothersome to me. STOP. STOP using this word. Think of another word. Find a dictionary or thesaurus and find another damn word. Who started saying this word? Shame on you! LOL

Using the Phrase, "Sorry if that offends you or if you are offended"...
Stop caring about offending people. People get offended. It's ok. As long as you're not being intentionally hurtful or ugly, don't worry about the 1% that gets offended by you disliking a product or boycotting a brand. WHO CARES? Be your authentic self!

Saying the Phrase, "I'm Not Bragging in any way, shape or form"....
First of all, you saying that phrase negates the intention. You actually are bragging which is totally fine. Who cares? Why do you care if others think your bragging? Be proud of your collection and the investment you are making. Nothing wrong with a little (not a lot) boasting.

Saying the Phrase, "In My Opinion"...
We know it's your opinion because you're the one talking....duh. Additionally, sometimes YouTubers categorize their thoughts as opinions when they are actually fact and vice versa.

Using Thumbnails That Indicate Your Collection is "Huge"...
LOL. this is funny to me. Please STOP using the word HUGE in your description and thumbnail which you know damn well that whatever you are showing is not HUGE (collections, declutters, hauls etc.) It's a relative term and I get that. Actually, that's my point. Unless you're sure it's huge, then don't title it as such.

Forgetting About The Shitty Things that Fellow YouTubers Have Done/Said...
This is huge for me. There's a lot of people hopping on the Laura Lee Entourage disaster, but we soon forget about other YouTubers who have done equally shitty things (Jefferee Star), but issue half ass apologies and then everything is good. Or we ignore that these YouTubers have bee shitty all along (Manny MUA) and then act uber surprised when the shit really hits the fan. Be consistent in your disdain for people. Is that hard?

Not Disclosing That a Video is Sponsored (except in the fine print)...
Just disclose that the video is sponsored because we already know by the way you are talking, acting, giggling, being super over expressive, smiling stupidly, and pushing a product when can tell you actually don't like.

Forgetting that We Are Here for the Makeup, Not the Bullshit...
I am so over all the drama and personal life information about YouTubers. If you are a member of the beauty community and you have drama, please keep that crap at a distance, because a lot of us are here for the makeup, not the bullshit.

Who the hell changed how to pronounce the word "Mauve"....
This is particularly annoying to me. Conversation with my mom....."Mom, how to do pronounce this word?" Mom says, "mauve ( /moʊv/)". I say, "Have you ever heard it pronounced  /məʊv/"? Mom says, "Who the hell pronounces it like that"? Apparently, in the UK It is common to pronounce it in the latter context, but I often here YouTubers from the US pronouncing it as if they were British and it's uber annoying to me....I don't know. I get bent about stupid stuff pretty easily.

Over Using Words Like, "Gorgeous" Pigmented" Pigmentation" "Stunning" "Blendable" Etc...
I know we have limited words to describe products in the beauty community. I acknowledge that and definitely have the problem with my writing, but here's a thought - get a Thesaurus. I don't know, It might help!

Using Poor Grammar by using the phrase "These Ones"....
The information below is taken from a site I trust regarding grammatically correct English. I researched several reputable sites, which all said essentially the same thing. Click Here for more information!

The word "ones" can be plural, as in "I like the red ones." You could even say "I like these red ones." Imagine that "ones" is standing in for the word "roses" or apples." But "I like these ones" is redundant and incorrect. "These" is already standing in for the noun. You should say simply "I like these" instead.

The situation is the same with "those":

He likes those ones. (redundant)

He likes those. (better)

The phrases "this one" and "that one" don’t seem to bother linguists, but it doesn't hurt to take a second look when you use the phrases to make sure you aren't being unnecessarily wordy.

Saying the Phrase, "Product of All Time"....
Excuse me, but is the Basketball Hall of Fame? Is this the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? Is this an induction ceremony for a member of Baseball Hall of Fame? Oh, it's not? Good, because that is the only time you should use the "best of all time". Did the beauty community create an Eyeshadow Hall of Fame and not tell me? Because then using this ridiculous term would make sense. No? Ok, well then please stop saying it.

Saying the Phrase, "It does/doesn't speak to me"....4
Are you that deep that you have conversations with your makeup? It speaks to you? What is that conversation like, but for me, I am dying to know how a beauty product "speaks" to you. I get it. . . You're not drawn to the product. It doesn't excite you, right? That's a sensible statement, but when you endow makeup with sentient behavior, I get worried.

✮✮✮Weekly Product & Palette Rotation✮✮✮Weeks 38 & 39✮✮✮

✭✭✭I just want to go over a couple of changes I initiated 3 rotations back. I have reverted back to a Bi-Weekly Product & Palette Rotation & a Bi-weekly Review, Rate, & Rate schedule. The Bi-Weekly Product & Palette rotation posts on Mondays and rotates every other Monday, whereas Review, Rate, and Rotate will post the Friday of the week after the Rotation is posted. Each series will post on the opposite week of the other. Make sense? Clear as mud? Ok, good! Also, in order to rotate through my palettes in a better and more functional way, I will be choosing one palette from each category I have created in my inventory (Custom, High-End, Small High-End, Large, Luxury, Affordable) every two weeks, and I will select 2 palettes that are new/newer releases that I have not used2 palettes that I have not used that may be older, & 2 palettes that I have already rotated through my collection. Additionally, I will be selecting one to two palette(s) to use all month as a supplemental palette(s). Also throughout the rest of the year, I am participating in several Panning Projects, and those products will be used throughout the month as supplements. Again, clear as mud? Make no sense? Good, well we are all on the same page!✭✭✭

So, here's my selection for the next two weeks! Lots of wonderful LOOKS will come from these products.

✮✮✮Product Review✮✮✮Winky Lux Kitten, Smitten Kitten, Cashmere Kitten & Coffee Palettes✮✮✮

Rating is out 10 out of 10, with a full point given for each of the ten sections listed above. Points per section may be issued in the following denominations: 0,.0 .25, .50, 1.0. For further clarification, the sections listed are worth a total of 1.0 point and are:
  1. Company Profile & Personality: (available information about the company, cruelty-free status information, philanthropic efforts, unnecessary controversy, indie company vs mainstream)
  2. Price: (product cost, availability of product, shipping cost, available coupons)
  3. Purchase Process: (order time vs receipt of product turn around, availability of product, email notifications including shipping & tracking number, email notification for delivery)
  4. Packaging: (was the item securely package, decorative packaging efforts including information card about the product, upcoming sales, or the company itself)
  5. Pigmentation: (via swatches)
  6. Color Payoff: (via application to the area applicable)
  7. Product Application: (ease of application of the product, for example for eyeshadow, is there fall out, creasing, etc.
  8. Performance: (longevity of wear)
  9. Product Value: (price to product amount ratio, i.e. price per gram + product quality + consumer response (popularity of the product and consumer response) + repurchase option)
  10. Overall Product Presentation: shade variation (if eyeshadow), women of color friendly, pale people friendly, universally applicable to many skin tones, desire for repeated use, would you repurchase the item again, is this product associated with a particular trend or is does it market the companies individuality, does the product set a new & innovative trend, is the product effective (does it do what it’s designed to do), does the product have potential multiple application opportunities (i.e. can the product be used as a blush & lipstick), is the product limited edition or a permanent product, is the product part of a collection, is the product consistent (from shade to shade, if an eyeshadow palette) from color to color in a part of a collection and does it function and operate the same each time applied.
Price & Purchase Process & Packaging: I purchased 3 of the palettes in this series from Nordstrom, while the first one I was exposed to was a part of a Boxycharm. Incidentally, I was find the first palette, The Kitten Palette, on Ulta’s website during my daily obsession of the eyeshadow palette section, but had never heard of the brand and was hesitant to pull the trigger on the purchase. All four palettes in this review were priced at $25 dollars, but since I received the first one in a Boxycharm, I didn’t pay full price for it. In terms of packaging, from a personal standpoint I absolutely hate the packaging of the “Kitten Series” because I can’t stand cats, but objectively speaking the palette have a soft and gentle appeal that resonates with the majority of consumers, because in theory, kittens are cute, cuddly and adorable – again, that is a theoretical perspective because again, I loathe cats. But for the most part, the packaging speaks to the subtle, but clearly purposeful idea that kittens are appealing to the vast majority of people who are consumer of beauty products. Now, the coffee palette’s aesthetic is something relatable to me as a 38 year old women who enjoys her morning coffee more than any part of the day, so again, the inherent marketing strategy for the packaging of all the palettes is well done! The Smitten Kitten Packaging is my favorite and the most luxe. It is surrounding by pleasant and beautiful flowers and the palette is encased in a heart-shaped box! Very enticing!

Pigmentation & Color Payoff & Performance: In terms of reviews specifically for the Kitten Palette, I am the dissenting opinion, so to speak. Most “beauty gurus” and I use that term loosely, were not fans of the palette and only cared for the first shade on the second row called “Holographic” because of its duochromatic effect. I loved the palette so much, that I went on to purchase the rest of the palettes in the “Kitten Series” as well as the Coffee Palette. The pictures below show swatches that are beautiful and strong in pigmentation, and fortunately, they apply equally rich in color payoff on the eyes. Given the price of these palettes, I think they perform well above expectations and for an unknown brand, I think the Kitten Palette, in particular, makes a strong debut appearance. Each palette has a unique and palatable color story for every sort of beauty consumer with loves for cool, neutral, warm, and bright tones. The shadows blend better than I expected and were simple enough for a novice to work with, yet pigmented to satisfy the even relentless eyeshadow snob.

Overall Product Presentation: As I have state with certainty, I am not a fan of the cat theme, but most people would find it adorable in some way (I don’t understand it but it’s true). Now, if they had puppies on the palettes, I would be all over it, but alas, there are some very disturbing kittens. Nevertheless, I think that for a company walking into the world of beauty and skin care, you have to be able to have new, innovative, products that appeal to the consumer, and I think Winky Lux is making an impression. Partnering with Boxycharm was a very important and strategic marketing initiative and although YouTube “beauty gurus” (again, using this term loosely) didn’t really give this palette much consideration, average women like me, might find these palettes useful in many ways. You have a warm-toned palette, a cool-toned palette, a neutral palette, a palette with unique bright colors. I think these palettes are ideal for beginners and useful for people with small collections.

SUMMER FAVORITES June TOP 5✭July BOTTOM 5✭August TOP 5 REDISCOVERED✭August BOTTOM 5 DECLUTTERED✭

✭✭JUNE Edition TOP 5 Bougie Brie’s Monthly BEST IN BEAUTY✭✭

First Aid Lip Therapy -
Great lip treatment for those of us who suffer from severely chapped lips.

Real Techniques Mini Brushes -
These are great little brushes for your makeup bag and function just as well as the regular sized brushes

Nest Black Tulip -
The most beautiful and uniquely sexy fragrance of 2018.

Pretty Vulgar Gel Ink Eyeliner in Black -
The best gel ink eyeliner I have ever used. A significant amount of product which glides on smoothly and stays all day.

Styli Style Eyeliner in Blueberry -

An unlikely favorite. Very pigmented and rich, with a variety of unique colors. Affordable as well.

✭✭JULY Edition BOTTOM 5 Bougie Brie’s Monthly BEAUTY BUMMERS✭✭

Jonte Blu Eyeliner in Black -
Just an awful, awful eyeliner. No pigmentation with a very sharp and unforgiving point that tugs at the eye.

Jumbo Santee Eye Products -
Not necessarily a bad product. Actually, for the price, it's quite good, but the damn tops WILL NOT stay on.

Too Faced Peach Blur Finishing Powder -
A completely useless product that does nothing in terms of blurring. Major regret regarding this purchase, however, the setting powder is a holy grail item of mine.

Glam 21 Mascara
Not a mascara for top lashes. It is completely useless in terms of lengthening or anything of that nature for the top lashes. Very awkward and weird brush, however, I have been able to use this product for my bottom lashes.
✭✭AUGUST Edition TOP 5 Rediscovered Products & BOTTOM 5 Decluutered✭✭

Rediscovered Products Top Five

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon Eyeshadow Palette -
Great cool-toned palette, with a variety of colors. Definitely my favorite of the Chocolate Bar Series.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eyeshadow Palette -
My favorite Anastasia Palette. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with people because this palette is stunning. The color story alone is enough to make me fall in love. Grea fall/winter palette.

Natasha Denona Sunset Eyeshadow Palette -
My favorite eyeshadow brand/formula. I own all of her palettes, including all her five-pan palettes. This is a beautiful summer palette and I use it in conjunction with Colorupop's Yes Please Palette

First Aid Beauty Cleanser -
I love this cleanser. Great to remove makeup with and leaves skin feeling clean, smooth, but not stripped of natural oils.

Kat Von D Old Gold Pigment From Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette -
I am trying to use up this old gold pigment from the Serpentina Palette. It is gorgeous and beautiful over a base.

Decluttered Items Bottom Five

Morphe 350 -
Never even used this palette. 50 shades of brown that I do not need and I am glad to get rid of. Some nice lady purchased it on Mercari.

NYX Perfect Filter Golden Hour Eyeshadow Palette -
I am just realizing that I am not a fan on NYX eyeshadow palettes, due to the high "drugstore cost" versus the very ordinary and uneventful formula.

OFRA Bright Addictions Eyeshadow Palette -
Sold this on Poshmark. No pigmentation and I have a lot of other brights palettes that I perfer more.

Dose of Colors Eyescream Eyeshadow Palette -
I really liked this palette, but I couldn't really come up with any looks that I was a fan of. The palette was amazing. This was more a user error on my part.

All My Morphe Brushes -
The shittiest brushes I own. Literally feels like a cat is scratching my eye lids. Didn't declutter....threw away.
