Semi - Monthly Palette & Product Rotation (Wks 8 & 9)

Welcome to the Bi-Weekly Palette & Product Rotation (Weeks 8 & 9). It became a tad overwhelming doing Palette & Product Rotations, plus Review, Rate, and Rotate every week. So, now Palette & Product Rotations and Review, Rate and Rotate will be posted on alternating Mondays and entail two weeks worth of product information. Obviously, I am off today, because today is Tuesday, but you get the idea. Palette & Product Rotation post will be located under the Featured Post tab, while Review, Rate, and Rotate will be found under the Product Review tab. YouTuber of the Week - Nicole Singer

I am desperately trying to become more consistent about my series posts, timing, schedule and just overall productivity. Getting back to my YouTuber of the Week series has been inspired by the many small YouTubers that are kicking ass and taking names. I only use YouTube as a avenue to upload personal videos to share on my website. I am, by no means, attempting to be a YouTube sensation. First off, I can't do anything in terms of editing and I don't have the patience to learn. Yesterday, I was binge watching eyeshadow collection videos, which are my favorite. In case you were wondering, I literally have over 400 eyeshadow palettes, and I always like to see what other people have. I came across the young lady below, Nicole Singer, who had a great personality, and sense of humor to match. Her channel is new and in its infancy, but I think she has increditble potetial. What I found most interesting about Nicole was that she took the time and effort to address Tarte's lack of inclusivity in the creation of their new Shape Tape Foundation. She shows great maturity and practical thinking. Check out one of my favority videos of her below!

Bi - Monthly Review, Rate, & Rotate (Wks 5 & 6)

Review, Rate, and Rotate is a new series that I am working up on a bi-weekly basis. Every other Monday, Review, Rate, and Rotate will highlight and feature products from the previous week's Bi-Weekly Palette and Product Rotation, which is featured on alternating Mondays. So one Monday, Bi-Weekly Palette & Product Rotation, and the following Monday, Bi-Weekly Review, Rate, and Rotate! Make sense? Clear as mud? Ok, good! If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to reach out to me on my Contact Me page HERE! If you would like to see a specific item reviewed in detail, I would absolutely love to do that, just let me know, and I will do my best to make that happen!

Violet Voss Ride or Die Eyeshadow Palette: Review - Extremely versatile and wonderfully vibrant palette. Excellent color story with neutral warm and cool tones for a wide variety of makeup lovers. Rate8.5/10 I really didn't set out to like this palette. It was quite pricey and it is a large palette making it difficult to store, but have been pleasantly surprised with this palette and would definitely repurchase. Rotate - This beautiful Palette is staying put I'm looking to place it in some type of panning project.

Bobbi Brown Nude Drama: Review - Overall, pretty dissatisfied with this product, especially considering the price point. Mattes are workable, but the shimmer/glitter shades completely lack true pigmentation and require building, and building, and building. Who has time or patience for that? Rate - At best, I would say this is a 4.5/10. Again, given the price point and the brand's reputation, I expected much more. Rotate - I'm not sure what to do with this product. I cannot keep it based on what I paid for it, but it's hard to let it go BECAUSE I paid so much for it. Update to follow...

Winky Lux Kitten Palette: Review - Absolutely love this little palette. Received this in a Boxycharm subscription and I really have enjoyed this product. Wonderful color story, excellent selection of finishes and textures, delightfully unique and original. Rate - 7.5/10 I really have enjoyed this palette and I am especially happy that I received it via Boxycharm.
Rotate - Given the excellent performance of this product, it will be staying put with mama.

Urban Decay The Fun Palette: Review - I picked up this product via a secondary market source for a more than reasonable price. It is an older palette, so I was wasn't expecting much, but much to my surprise, the palette is quite pigmented and usable. Definitely worth the $10 I paid for it. Unfortunately, the palette is limited as far as being able to make a complete look without an adjunct palette. Rate - 6/10 Palette loses major points for not being a "complete" palette, but I find it useful for a pop of color on the lower lash line! Rotate - Although I have enjoyed this palette in this rotation, I will actively looking for another home for her, simply because I have so many similar shades.

Viseart Golden Hour Eyeshadow Palette: Review - I purchased this palette during the holiday limited edition push by the cosmetics industry because of my experience with the several other Viseart palettes I had previously purchased. I was uber impressed with this little guy. Great every day/workweek palette. Shadows are super smooth and apply beautifully. Just amazing! Rate - 9/10 Absolutely one of my most favorite palettes of the last six months. Rotate - Will be rotating this palette back into the bi-weekly selection in a couple of weeks!

Make Up For Ever Pro Fusion #2: Review - This is a tricky little highlighter to work with. It's a gelatinous texture and requires a little a bit of finesse. It creates a beautiful highlight for medium/darker skin people. Rate - 7.5/10 Given that it's a little tricky to apply, it loses a couple of points. Rotate - Looking to pan this item in the future,

Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation Stick (1), Wet n Wild Photo Focus (2), Tarte Rainforest of the Sea (3), Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless: Review - (1) I have heard not so wonderful things about this product, but it absolutely works for me, in particular in the summer time. Rate - 6/10 Not my favorite foundation, but gets the job done. Rotate - I have a friend that like cream contour and I think I am going to pass it along to her. I don't dislike the product, but she would get more and better use out of it. Review - (2) One of the best drugstore foundations around. Great color selection & long wearing. Rate - 8/10 For the price, you cannot beat the quality. Just an absolute favorite. You use to hear a lot of buzz about it, but not so much anymore, but I would be a fool if I didn't say you get a good value and then some. Rotate - No way, Jose! This one is a keeper. Review - (3) This is definitely in my top five foundations. I am not sure if it's being phased out because you can only purchase it on the Tarte website as far as I can tell. If that's the case I will be purchasing a back up with a quickness. Rate - 9/10. I will be doing a top five foundation feature soon and this is definitely on there along with her sister, Amazonian Clay Foundation. Rotate - Again, one of the best foundations for combination skin desiring coverage without being heavy. Definitely a keeper. Review - (4) I guess I picked some of my favorites in this rotation because this is actually my other favorite drugstore foundation. Perfect color for my skin, especially in the summer. Rate - 8.5/10 I like this foundation slightly more than the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation. There are considerably more shades and the price point is perfect for the drugstore. For a woman who likes to wear spackle on her face (matte finish) or prefers full coverage, I think this is an excellent option. Rotate - Not only is this staying in my collection, I actually have two backups, so I would say I am a super fan.

Morphe Night Master (1), Wet n Wild Comfort Zone (2), and Milani Foiled Eyeshadows (3): Review - (1) I am not a Morphe fan. I have been overly fair to the company and I have purchased many of their palettes. With that being said, this is my favorite Morphe palette (even more than the Jaclyn Hill palette, gasp!) I like the selection of colors and the downsize in the number of pans. The 35 pan palettes are too repetitive, too overwhelming, and lack significant quality for the amount of attention they receive. I think it's a nice combination of the warm tones that everyone is going bananas for, along with a touch of bronze, champagne, and burgundy shimmer shades, topped off with the essential universally complexion friendly bone color in the top left. With all honesty, I like this particular palette more than the Modern Renaissance. I know that's blasphemy in the makeup community but that's my truth. Rate - 7/10 Given the price point, the selection of colors, and the increase in quality, including packaging, I can comfortably recommend this palette to any warm tone/shade lover. Rotate - Although I am purging most of my Morphe collection, this is not among the group. Very pleased with this purchase. Review - (2) Not a fan. At all. Completely disappointed by this palette. Nothing like the original and if you like the original, I suggest you go out immediately and get a back up because they are pulling off the shelves and replacing it with this inferior product.  Rate - 4/10 Although you get more shades, the pans are awkwardly shaped and unusually small. The shadows themselves are poorly manufactured. I don't understand why a company would reformulate a cult favorite. Mind, blown! Rotate -  The sooner I get this out of my collection, the better. Happy to get rid of it. Review - (3) What a complete waste of money. These shadows are NOT foiled but instead are CREAM shadows, that, for the record, stay tacky and never really dry down, AND crease almost immediately. Completely unusable for a person with oily lids, and I imagine a person with normal to dry lids wouldn't fare well either. Rate - 2/10 Just find something else to spend your money on. Not this. Maybe Milani's new $20 palette (expensive for the drugstore) might be worth a damn, but this absolutely is not.
