Product Rotation – Changes
Every two weeks I will be basing the selection of my products, in particular, my eyeshadow palettes, on a theme. Below is a list of themes that will be thrown into a randomizer and every rotation the randomizer will select a theme. The highlighted themes are ones that have been used, and the one that is highlighted with a check mark is the current week's theme. So, this week, the theme is INDIE BRANDS (NON - US)!

Price &
Purchase Process & Packaging:
Fenty Pro Filter Foundation is a soft matte,
long wear foundation that comes in a boundary breaking 50 shades. Unheard of
and unfound in the beauty community, the Fenty brand broke the silence and
propel the high-end community into formulating foundations, powders, and concealers
to meet the needs of the lightest to darkest skinned consumer. As appealing as
the shade range is the brand shows equal consideration for the consumer budget,
marketing the foundation price at $34. I purchase shade 310 from Sephora online
and it was shipped in good condition to my home within a fair amount of time.
Pigmentation
& Color Payoff & Performance:
I wore this foundation for a week straight, with
different powders and primers, but items I use on a regular basis. The
application of the product was without incident and applied smoothly throughout
the surface of my skin. I used a Real Techniques Complexion Sponge (or
something similar) and set the foundation with various setting powders (Peach
Perfect, Flower Beauty, Rimmel Stay Matte). I found that the foundation did not
settle into my fine lines and the color match was almost perfect. Each day I
wore the foundation more than 8 hours and regardless of the setting powder the
foundation became oily around hour 6. I had to touch up once or twice, and the foundation
cooperated accordingly. I found that among my high-end foundation, the Fenty
performed well and held it’s own, however, I have found that more often than
not, I have drugstore foundations that perform equally well or better
(Maybelline Fit Me). The Fenty foundation went on beautifully and made me skin
look amazing, but other foundations like the Maybelline Fit Me, may not look as
beautiful, but hold better throughout the day. So, it’s your choice as to which
you prefer. If you are looking for something “long-wear” like the Fenty
foundation claims, I wouldn’t necessarily go for Fenty, but if you’re going out
for a short evening on the town, Fenty might be the way to go.
Overall Product
Presentation:
There are only a couple of high-end foundations that I would repurchase
and that I can rely on for long-wear and mattifying finish. Fenty is not one of
them. It’s definitely a beautiful foundation with a stunning finish, but it’s
not something I would wear on a 12 hour work day. It has a place in my collection
and I am happy to have it but it’s not my go to!
