Overall Product Presentation: shade variation (if eyeshadow), women of color friendly, pale people friendly, universally applicable to many skin tones, desire for repeated use, would you repurchase the item again, is this product associated with a particular trend or is does it market the companies individuality, does the product set a new & innovative trend, is the product effective (does it do what it’s designed to do), does the product have potential multiple application opportunities (i.e. can the product be used as a blush & lipstick), is the product limited edition or a permanent product, is the product part of a collection, is the product consistent (from shade to shade, if an eyeshadow palette) from color to color in a part of a collection and does it function and operate the same each time applied.

Price & Purchase Process & Packaging:

I purchased this from my local Sally's Beauty when I went in to grab some hair color. I was immediately drawn to the unique color story. I've been living neutral palettes with pops of varying green shades, and this palette was on sale AND I had a coupon so I only paid $4 for the palette. What a steal!

Pigmentation & Color Payoff & Performance:

I have heard great things about Collab and the brand. The overall consensus I find is that it's a great brand but that the products are a little too high for it to be an affordable product, however most often reviews for Collab products are favorable.

The palette that I selected was the "After Hours" Eyeshadow Palette, which contained tones of greys. and browns, and greens. Very grungy and edgy, but easily can be glammed up for an evening with friends. I find the matte to shimmer ratio personally appealing with an equal number of each, which some may find unattractive or unnecessary, favoring the ideology that palettes should always be matte "heavy" and shimmer "light". I happen to disagree with this line of thinking and can appreciate a brand taking a small palette, and restricting the usual layout of the textures, allowing the consumer to invoke more creativity. Some times brands make things "too easy" and some times they make things more difficult than necessary, however, I find that the compilation of the shades, the minimalism of the shade range, while still instilling diversity in such a small 8 pan palette, is nothing short of genuis. Although this price of this palette is a bit unappealing, two things help give leniency to the price point. First, the quality of the product is above board. The palette is better than most that you can find at your local Walgreens or CVS oh, so I think a higher price point is necessary. Number two, you can often get these eyeshadow palettes buy one get one 1/2 off and additionally you can order them online at Sally's.Com. Additionally, the Collab eyeshadow palettes come in a myriad of color stories that lean both warm, cool, and neutral. There is a palette that is appropriate for every type of eyeshadow wearer and I believe even the shadow palette selection and color stories bridge a very wide gap in terms of selections for both young and more mature people.

I found that the mattes shadows in this particular eyeshadow palette Glen extremely well. Almost with little effort and all the selections of mattes played well together. I never experienced any of the shadows muddying up or creating a gray effect if that was not the color that I was going for. Although I always spray my brush when applying my lid shade, it is not necessary to do so in the case of shimmer / metallic eyeshadows. The color payoff given the price point is absolutely spectacular and even more impressive is that these shadows are quite long-lasting on the eye. I applied the shadows around 6 a.m. and by 9 p.m. that night they were still looking just as vibrant. I was extremely impressed with this eyeshadow palette. So impressed that I went on to buy three others by this brand.

Overall Product Presentation:

I think the packaging of these eyeshadows are very minimalistic but sleek and appropriate. I do love the packaging as it reminds me of something I would purchase from Nars. I think the many different color stories that are offered are unique and different from anything you would find in a drugstore or a low-end priced website. I believe this eyeshadow palette it's worth the price and then some and I must say that I do not have a lot of drugstore priced eyeshadow palettes in my collection. To favorably review this eyeshadow palette, continually keep the product, and purchase others in different color stories says a lot about the product itself.
