Jouer Skinny Dip Eyeshadow Palette, Makeup Addiction Cosmetics Meadow Palette
Review - Absolutely one of the best-foiled eyeshadow palettes around. Although the formulation is a little chunky, the pigmentation of the shadows is outstanding ad last all day. Remarkable color payoff.
Rate - 9.0 In terms of foiled eyeshadows, it just doesn't get better than this palette. The price to gram ratio is a little high, but 1000 % worth it. You won't be disappointed.
Rotate - This is staying put in my collection and I even pulled into the palette holder near my desk to get more use out of it.
Review - High-quality eyeshadow palette out of the United Kingdom. Quite affordable for the amount of product (huge pan sizes), and a fine selection of shades. Particularly beautiful when foiled. As far as I am concerned, one of the best affordable brands and definitely in the same league as Colourpop and Juvia's Place.
Rate - 8.0 The palette is outstanding - there's no denying that, but it's definitely not a one and done type of palette. I would say you would probably need an accent palette to make a complete look.
Rotate - I am a huge fan of this brand and I own all of their eyeshadow palettes. I don't see this one leaving my collection anytime soon.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eyeshadow Palette
Review - This palette caught Holy Hell during its initial release and I think ABH is still trying to recover from the various disparaging YouTube videos and blogger reviews criticizing the palette's quality and ABH's neglectful production of the palette. I think that's absolute bullshit. This is a beautiful palette. First, it probably is not receiving the fame of the Modern Renaissance because it's not the patent warm-toned cult eyeshadow palette. It's quite different and unique and falls under the more cool-toned and smokey eye looks. Secondly, this palette contains pressed pigments, which requires a different technique and a bit of finesse. Word to the wise - don't buy products without doing your research. Be a well-informed and conscientious consumer.
Rate - 7.75 Minus a couple of points for the shimmer to matte ratio, and for a lack of variety in color combinations. One has to be rather creative to come up with an every day work appropriate eye look with this palette, which makes things a little difficult.
ABH Prism Eyeshadow Palette
Review - I really enjoyed this palette this past week! Great selection of shades and I appreciate the shimmer to matte ratio. Such unique and innovative shades perfect for its Holiday release!
Rate - 8.0/10 Although I enjoy this palette, it’s quite similar in many ways to ABH Subculture in tone and eye looks. I think combining both palettes is more ideal that using them solo, but I am certainly not one for multiple palettes to achieve the look I am going for. I am a one palette kind of woman.
Rotate - I plan to keep this palette around for at least another rotation.
Juvia's Place The Saharan II Eyeshadow Palette
Review - There is just no way in the world you will get me to say anything bad about Juvia's Place. Remarkable products, specially created with people of color in mind and marketed in a creative and inviting manner. Of all of my Juvia's Place palettes, and yes, I own them all, this is my most favorite one. A beautiful color story that allows the consumer to be both creative and bold yet contains shades that are workable and wearable.
Rate - 8.75/10 I love this palette so much that I purchased a backup! Yep, it's that serious for me.
Rotate - This palette and all its brother and sister palette have a happy home right here with me.
Tarte Tarteiest Pro Eyeshadow Palette
Review - I am a huge fan of Tarte's products. I have all of their eyeshadows produced over the past two years and they all live together in a decorative shelf in my beauty room. Most people who are not a fan of Tarte's eyeshadows criticize them for being dry, which they are, and being overly neutral, which again, they are, but I still find their shadows especially appropriate for a middle-aged customer base that is looking for easily wearable shades that do not require much manipulation. When I first purchased this palette, I adored it, but over this last week, I realized a couple of things.....One, I have all these shades between the Tartelette & the Tartelette in Bloom. Secondly, the shimmer shades, which are my everything, leave me wanting much much more. I am not a fan of pulling in multiple palettes to create one look.
Rate - 6.75/10 This is a good solid palette, but the fact remains that I really don't need it or use it. It doesn't excite or stir up the creativity within me.
Rotate - So sad to say it, but this palette is being decluttered. It is being sent to my friend Desiree in San Antonio, Texas, who I think will enjoy it immensely!
J Cat Beauty 24 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Santa Monica
Review - I purchased all of the 24 Pan Palettes release from J Cat last year. This was the one I was most excited about. It's been in a couple of rotations, and I feel like I am making myself use this palette. It's beautiful in theory, with alternating matte/shimmer shades that are arranged in a user-friendly manner, and a wonderful color selection, but the truth is that I have these types of shadow 1000 times over.
Rate - 5.5/10 This is a great palette for the price ($17.99) and most often you can get these 24 pan palette for buy 1 get 1 1/2 off at Ulta. I think if you don't have an extensive eyeshadow collection, or are a new makeup user, this palette would be an excellent place to begin. This one is particularly useful because of the way it is set up.
Rotate - Unfortunately, I have to say farewell to this lovely palette, but I have nieces, friends, and organizations that love getting gently used makeup!
Urban Decay Optical Illusion, Too Faced Primed Poreless & Pure, It Cosmetics CC+
Review - This is one of my absolute favorite primers. When it was release last year it quickly became a regular in my routine. It doesn't have the most wonderful reviews, but for me, this product makes me makeup last, blurs my imperfections, and you only need about one pump for your entire face, which makes the longevity of the product well-worth the price.
Rate - 8.5/10 I love this product so much that I have two backups and I recently sent one to my dear friend, Des, in San Antonio.
Rotate - This product is not going anywhere and I am in the middle of panning my second bottle.
Review - This primer is more silicone based and honestly quite greasy. Sometimes I like to use primer alone on days I don't wear any makeup to smooth and mattify my face. This primer does not have the type of consistency to accomplish that. In all honesty, it's too expensive for what it promises (poreless appearance) and absolutely doesn't deliver,
Rate - 5.0/10 Not my favorite and would never repurchase.
Rotate - At this point, I am just trying to finish up this product because it's a little old. Don't plan to repurchase, donate, or gift to anyone.
Review - At one point, this product was my ride or die foundation, but over time I have discovered products that are better for my skin. I love It Cosmetics as a brand but this particular foundation does not serve me well, and what really stinks is that I have two backups.
Rate - 6.5/10 This is in fact a good foundation with wonderful ingredients, but I just think I found other products that work better for me.
Rotate - Working on panning this product and considering donating the backups.
Wet n' Wild To Reflect Shimmer Palette, Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Royal
Review - I used this shimmer palette from Wet n' Wild as a highlighter/bronzer. I think that for the price and the pan size, plus the beautiful sheen it leaves on your cheekbones, this is an amazing product. Unlike many other drugstore highlighters, it is not powedry or too dry, but easy to manipulate and perfect for those of us with olive, tan, or deep skin. One of my favs from the drugstore.
Rate - 7.5/10 There always room for improvement but this is an excellent product for the drugstore.
Rotate - I will happily keep this gem in my collection.
Review - I have found over time that the majority of blushes, regardless of price, last quite well on my skin, so my blush collection does not feature a lot of high end blushes. I really really love this blush, especially for the fall/winter time of the year. So deep and rich and ridiculously pigmented. Just an absolute gem of a blush.
Rate - 8.25/10 This is quickly becoming my favorite fall/winter blush, especially given how much I paid for it, which I believe was under $5. Great little guy!
Rotate - I am looking to put this into a fall panning project.
